Creating A “Search Results Not Found” Custom Report

Ensure Site Search has been enabled

• Check Admin/View Profile/View Settings
• Site Search button should be “on” and the query parameter identified

Identify a parameter that distinguishes between search result found & search result not found.

• For eLignum, I found that the page title when a search yielded no results was called search.

Create a custom report

• Select Page Views as the metric
• Select Search Term as the dimension
• Select Filter and add the parameter value that identifies search result not found. In my example I was able to use Page Title as my parameter.
